Two babies born at CURGO. In 2009 the MSF Centre for Obstetrical Emergencies in Kabezi (CURGO) assisted 2,300 women facing complications during pregnancy or delivery, who needed care not provided in primary health centres. This care is vital as the complications can be fatal, both for the expectant mother and the newborn. With a capacity of 48 beds, the centre also has a delivery room and an operation theatre, where caesarean sections are performed when necessary.
